Users sometimes upgrade their computer or switch workstations but aren’t sure how to update the device associated with their U-Rite account. Since U-Rite licenses are tied to a single active device at a time, you may occasionally need to change which machine is registered. U-Rite allows you to update your associated device once every seven days directly from your Dashboard.
To change your associated device in U-Rite, follow these steps:
Log in to the U-Rite Dashboard Use your account credentials to access the Dashboard.
Open Your Account or Profile Section Navigate to Account or Profile, where you can view your subscription details, settings, and your currently registered device.
Find the Device Information Section Locate the Device Information area, which displays the machine currently linked to your account.
Select Remove Device Click Remove Device to begin the device change process. U-Rite will prompt you to confirm that you want to deactivate your existing device.
Confirm the Device Removal After you confirm, your old device is immediately deactivated, allowing you to sign in on a new machine.
Install or Open the U-Rite Excel Add-In on the New Device Reinstall the add-in (if needed) or simply open it on the new computer.
Sign in using your U-Rite login
The add-in will activate automatically
Ensure you bring your Excel model files with you, as they are not transferred automatically
Be Aware of the 7-Day Device Change Policy U-Rite allows device changes once every seven days.
If you attempt to switch before the cooldown resets, the system will notify you and block the change
